The Offsite Field Superintendent is responsible for oversight and coordination of the land development process for assigned communities within the Southern California division.

1.0 Field supervision of offsite construction project teams
2.0 Construction observation for duration of project
3.0 Preparation of daily construction reports
4.0 Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, schedule and budget
5.0 Review of construction change order documentation
6.0 Co-Facilitate with CD Manager and weekly job site meetings and assist in preparation of agenda/ meeting minutes
7.0 Review and approval of construction project invoices
8.0 Be proactive to prevent potential construction quality and coordination problems
9.0 Maintain NPDES/SWPP documentation and implementation
10.0 Attend yearly seminars on SWPPP updates, and AQMD seminars as required
11.0 Participate in infrastructure constractability review meetings
12.0 Support & enforcement of Shea Homes Safety policies
13.0 Other duties/projects as assigned
Performance Standards 1.0 Create, maintain, & file all required project documentation 2.0 Lead project team meetings weekly, or as needed 3.0 Report budget impacts or potential impacts daily, if possible, or weekly 4.0 Co-develop project schedule prior to start, then maintain weekly during project 5.0 Ensure NPDES, SWPPP'S compliance and documentation daily 6.0 Provide regular (daily or as requested) communication to CD Mgr regarding status

Knowledge and Experience

1.0 Minimum 5 years field supervision experience on arterial, collector and residential street improvements, storm drainage, mass grading, traffic signals, street and slope landscaping and neighborhood park projects
2.0 Emphasis is on large-scale land development projects for residential and commercial purposes
3.0 BA/BS preferred

Skills and Abilities

1.0 Strong communication and leadership skills with construction project team members including contractors, civil and geotechnical engineers, field survey personnel and governmental agencies
2.0 Ability to understand and implement engineering design plans and project specifications
3.0 Ability to complete quality projects on schedule and within budget
4.0 Ability to be analytical, practical, and synergetic in developing successful solutions to construction issues
5.0 Strong organizational and time management skills
6.0 Ability to supervise, prioritize and complete multiple projects in various locations
7.0 Proficient in Microsoft computer software applications (Word, Excel, Project).
